Just as I was getting into the stride of my new exercising routine, I go an blow out my ankle! Man! I’ve worked up, over the past two weeks, to where I was running 2 miles three tmes a week. Running is one of my favorite forms of exercise probably because I ran so much in high school in soccer and on the track team.
Well, I went out for my jog as the sun was going down and didn’t recognize a spot on the sidewalk as a rock. I rolled my ankle on it and fell right to the ground. After vocally expressing my dissatisfaction with the situation, I examined the rock. If there can exist a rock with the property of being the most perfect rock on which to sprain an ankle, this rock would be it. It was perfectly shaped and had the perfect hardness on which to sprain an ankle. Maybe I should have kept it for scientific study, where scientists could have used it to design better moon-boots for astronauts. But I just threw to the side of the road.
The doctor said I should stay on crutches for at least 3 weeks. He said he expects my particular injury to take at least 6 weeks to heal. Glee……
